The Ellsworth light dome dominates the sky to the north, extending 30 degrees above the horizon. However, here at the start of the Acadia All American Road and the head of Mount Desert Island, the sky overhead remains remarkably detailed. Notice how small the distant Bar Harbor light dome appears from 13 km. Compare this to its size at the 47 Fire Overlook.This site provides the baseline for any changes resulting from modifications to the Rt. 3 & 102 intersection at the head of Mount Desert Inland. | ||
